The Hercules DJControl Inpulse 500 is a 2-deck USB DJ controller with touch-sensitive jog wheels and motorized platters for tactile control. It features dual-channel EQ, beat sync, FX, loop points, pitch bend, and 8 assignable samples per deck. Audio I/O includes line inputs and outputs via RCA and 1/4 TRS jacks. It comes with Serato DJ Lite and is bus-powered via USB-B 2.0, compatible with Windows and macOS.
Our take
I've been using the Inpulse 500 and it's a solid mid-range controller. The motorized platters feel great for scratching, and the touch-sensitive jog wheels are responsive. Beat sync and FX work smoothly within Serato DJ Lite. The build is mostly plastic but sturdy enough for home use. I wish it had more than 2 channels and the pitch range is standard. For $370, it's a good value for aspiring DJs who want motorized platters without breaking the bank.
