I picked up the Hercules DJControl Starlight as my first controller, and the included case is a nice bonus for travel. Setup was straightforward—plug and play with Serato DJ Lite. The build feels plastic but sturdy enough for home use. Jog wheels are small but responsive, and the 8 pads are great for triggering samples. Sound quality from the built-in card is decent for practice. My only gripe: the lack of separate gain knobs per channel makes balancing tracks a bit tricky. Overall, a solid entry-level choice.
