Our take
For $50, the DJControl Starlight is incredibly affordable. It's ultra-portable and works right out of the box with Serato DJ Lite. The illuminated pads look cool and are responsive for triggering samples. The built-in sound card is decent for practice. However, the jog wheels are tiny and not touch-sensitive, so scratching is nearly impossible. The build is all plastic and feels a bit flimsy. Also, the lack of dedicated EQ knobs is a letdown. For the price, it's a fine introduction, but don't expect pro performance.
